Stretch hooding and traditional stretch wrapping represent different philosophies in pallet stabilization. Stretch hooding uses a continuous tube of elastic film that is mechanically stretched, pulled over the load, and released. It provides 5-sided weatherproofing, superior structural containment force, and uses less film per pallet compared to multi-layer wrapping. Stretch wrapping wraps film spirally around the pallet, which is highly effective for variable load sizes but lacks absolute top-face water protection unless a separate top-sheet applicator is integrated.
